Dialogue 1

(Kelly and Fred are caught in traffic near the airport road.)

Kelly: Oh, no. Look at this traffic. I'm gonna be late.
Fred: Traffic is always heavy this time of day.
Kelly: Yeah, I know. What about the airport road?
Fred: Well, traffic moves at a quick clip on the airport road, but it's a long way around.
Kelly: No use, I guess. Turn on the radio. They usually keep tabs on bad traffic.
Fred: Hmm, doesn't sound good. There’s a huge traffic jam downtown.
Kelly: Sounds like this ice storm is causing a lot of fender benders.
Fred: Looks like we'll just have to wait it out.
Kelly: Unfortunately, I guess you're right.
Fred: You'll get used to it. Traffic is always a mess during rush hour.

Dialogue 2

(Terry and Veronica are heading to school in slight traffic.)

Terry:      Oh, no! Traffic is tired up in knots.
Veronica: Same old story every day here.
Terry:      Really?
Veronica: Let me clue you in on traffic conditions around town. First, traffic is often bumper-to-bumper on this road. The best traffic you can hope for is stop-and-go. Traffic has often slowed on crawl on other roads. You just can't win.
Terry:     That bad, huh?
Veronica: Yeah, and the rubbernecker slow traffic even more.
Terry:      You know, I really hate having to come to a dead stop on the expressway.
Veronica: If we don't start moving soon, I'm gonna blow a flues.
Terry:      My schedule's gonna take a beating.
Veronica: You'd better add lots of time for traffic in the future!
